Attracting
Prosperity:
Just Working Harder isn't the Answer
Attracting prosperity doesn't have
to be a long, difficult journey. It can and should be
a fun and exciting ride. You see, you can go after money
the hard way, by toiling and clawing, trying to always
work "just a little bit harder," or you can
do things the simple way, by learning to focus your
mind on prosperity and wealth, and ignore any suggestions
of lack or limitation.
Several
years ago I would have laughed out loud at this idea.
I would never have believed that attracting prosperity
could be the result of your attitude! At the time, I
thought that only long, hard work could achieve any
real level of prosperity or success. But today I know
better.
You
see, it dawned on me one day that the hardest working
people I knew were extremely poor. Was this only a coincidence?
At the time I wasn't certain, but these days I can tell
you for a fact that it is no coincidence at all. Attracting
prosperity is NOT the result of simply working hard.
If it were, I know plenty of people who should be extremely
rich by now...and yet aren't. Think about it; don't
we ALL know people like that?
So
if just working harder isn't the answer, what is?
Attracting
prosperity requires a shift in attitude. When you develop
a prosperous attitude, your life becomes easier, and
money and opportunities flow to you more freely. Now
I realize this may sound like an outrageous claim, but
I assure this is exactly how it works. Your attitude
will always be reflected in your surroundings. If your
attitude is wealth, you will see wealth reflected in
your life. If your attitude is one of poverty or lack...well,
you get the idea.
But
how do you go about developing a prosperous attitude?
Well, it's all down to your point of view -- your perspective.
Here's a quick example:

Years
ago I was driving through a tiny country town with my
good friend David. The town was obviously really poor,
and not exactly beautiful. In fact, as we drove through
town I was thinking,"what a hideous little place
this must be." In other words, I was focusing entirely
on what was wrong with it--about what it was lacking
in my opinion.
But
my buddy David saw something quite different. He started
pointing out commercial real estate that was being offered
at an unbelievably low price. He noticed that there
was only one real sit-down restaurant in town, indicating
there might be opportunity for a restaurant chain to
expand there.
He
went on for at least 15 minutes about the great opportunities
he saw around him. THAT was David's perspective -- to
look for the good in people, places and things. Anywhere
he went, he always noticed opportunities, while completely
ignoring problems and the negative side of life.
Unfortunately,
my attitude back then was not nearly so optimistic.
I was in the habit of looking for problems and for what
was wrong about a situation, place or person. And as
we all know, when you look for the downsides, you always
find them.
The
moral of the story is, David wound up investing in real
estate in that tiny little town and it has been earning
him a great residual income for more than 15 years now
-- all because he has a prosperous perspective. Attracting
prosperity comes naturally to him because he has the
habit of seeking out the best in people, places and
things.
Finally,
I figured out David's secret to success. I shifted my
perspective and stopped focusing on lack and poverty.
I began focusing on prosperity and success, and this
has enabled me to take advantage of many great opportunities
that I would have otherwise missed if I had continued
my habit of negative thinking.
Actually,
this example signifies exactly what attracting prosperity
is all about. When we are focused on prosperity,
success and opportunity, we begin noticing more and
more of these things everywhere we go -- we attract
them to us.
Focusing
your attention on what is good and right, instead of
what is bad or wrong will always give you the right
perspective. You will begin to notice opportunities
in unexpected places, where before you just saw problems
and complaints.
Your
first job is to shift your attitude and perspective,
to start seeing the world through the eyes of a prosperous
person. Begin right now by focusing your attention on
attracting prosperity, wealth and success, and ignoring
any and all information to the contrary. Remember, you
always have a choice what you will focus on in life.
Choose wisely.
