The Law of Attraction: Is Attraction Really The Law
of the Universe?
To
understand The Law of Attraction we
must first take a look at the precepts of this philosophy,
and how they relate to both scientific research and
common sense. While a few skeptics think The Law of
Attraction makes outrageous claims about the nature
of the physical world around us, in reality, it is a
philosophy which is in complete agreement with a massive
amount of scientific data, and perhaps more importantly,
our own intuitive and common sense beliefs about the
world we live in.
The first precept of The Law of Attraction
is usually expressed as "like attracts like."
Physicists, biologists and other scientists are all
very familiar with this concept. You probably even learned
in high school chemistry that "like molecules tend
to attract."
So there is a significant amount of
scientific data to confirm this first precept of The
Law of Attraction. And there is also common sense evidence
of this statement. Think about the old proverb, "Birds
of a feather flock together," or "tell me
who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are."
These are both common sense ways of expressing the same
concept: like attracts like.
The
second precept of The Law of Attraction is this: "attraction
is the organizing principle of the universe." This
means that, not only does "like attract like,"
but that attraction/repulsion is the method by which
the universe operates, and how all the seemingly different
physical objects in the world are "constructed."

There is a great deal of evidence that
suggests this is in fact the case. In physics, "String
Theory" is the most promising area of research
in understanding the physical nature of the universe.
String Theory implies that all matter is, at its root,
simply vibrating strands of energy.
And because every vibrating "string"
of energy has a frequency, it is theorized that like
frequencies are attracted together to form physical
objects. This would suggest two important pieces of
information: 1, the entire universe is actually "made"
of energy, and 2, attraction is the organizing principle
by which this energy operates. Like frequencies attract--
dissimilar frequencies repel.
The Law of Attraction provides us with
a way of understanding and using this knowledge in our
day-to-day lives. By studying The Law of Attraction,
we can become aware of our own responsibility in creating
our life. In fact, we are entirely responsible for the
consequences of our life at this and every other moment.
Right now, we are creating our lives by virtue of our
thoughts and our beliefs.
Again, this can sound like an outrageous
claim when you first hear it; but on reflection you
can see how this statement is actually just common sense.
If your thoughts and beliefs are of being poor, and
never having enough in life, The Law of Attraction maintains
that these thoughts and beliefs will be manifest as
your reality in life. In other words, you will never
become rich while thinking poor thoughts -- the Universe
just does not work that way.
The concept of attraction empowers each
of us. When we believe in this philosophy, we KNOW that
we are never "a victim" of circumstance, luck
or chance. Rather, we are always in the driver's seat,
creating our life by design.
The problem is, when people do not understand
The Law of Attraction, they tend to create their life
by default, because they do not actively practice the
art of manifestation.
What
Is Manifestation?
To
manifest something is to bring it into existence. The
Law of Attraction says that we manifest things into
our experience based on our thoughts and beliefs. We
may also be inspired to take a particular action toward
our goal, but the thought and the belief always come
first.
Here
is a very simple example: let's say one morning you
wake up with a thought in your mind of going back to
school and getting a degree. This thought stays on your
mind for some time, and after considering it you develop
a belief that this is possible for you. Once the thought
and the belief are there, only then do you take action
by enrolling in classes and continuing your education.

After completing your coursework, you
will eventually graduate and have your new degree. You
have now "manifested" your goal of attaining
a degree, but it was in fact a three-part process. The
first part of the process was the thought. You will
never achieve anything in life that you do not have
a thought about. The thought always comes first.
The
second part of the process was the belief. After thinking
about the idea you settled on a belief that it was possible
for you. This enabled you to move on to the third step
in using the Law of Attraction: taking action. After
thinking about the idea, and coming to a belief that
you could do it, you took action by enrolling for classes
and beginning to work toward your goal (the degree).
While it is obvious that action was
necessary in order to manifest your new degree, it is
also clear that none of this would've happened without
both the thought and the belief. Obviously, had you
never thought of going back to school, you would not
have done it. Likewise, if you had thought about it,
but settled on a belief that it was not possible for
you, you would not have done it.
In this way we can clearly see that
our thoughts and our beliefs are incredibly important.
And yes, it is important to take action too; but when
your thoughts and beliefs are in alignment with your
goals, you will naturally be led to the correct actions.
Attracting
Wealth With The Law of Attraction
A
primary concern for most people is to obtain more wealth,
and this is a noble pursuit. Without wealth, a person
cannot live life to the fullest, and they have very
little materially or spiritually to give to others.
We are meant to live full and abundant lives, and this
means that we should have enough money, time, resources,
love, material possessions, adventure, intellectual
stimulation, security and joy to follow our bliss and
live as we choose.
The Law of Attraction insists that we
are not on this earth to be slaves to a disagreeable
job or impoverished circumstances -- we are meant to
have abundance, and in fact, abundance is all around
us at all times.
The Law of Attraction tells us that
to create wealth, we must first change our thoughts
and beliefs, from lack and limitation, to wealth and
abundance. We can attract the life we want, including
the income and lifestyle we want once we understand
this process. These claims may seem extraordinary at
first, but once you begin using the principles of the
Law of Attraction, you will never go back, and you will
literally begin living the life of your dreams.
The Law of attraction is at work at
all times, for each of us, without exception. Once you
discover that you are in fact attracting every element
of your life to you, you can begin to manipulate this
process and create your life by design -- that is when
things start getting really interesting. Learning to
use the power of the Law of Attraction is the first
step toward a greater and richer life.
